Description

These super lightweight guards from Troy Lee should be just the ticket for anyone looking to avoid some injuries. Using a 3 strap Velcro closure system the guards should stay firmly in place. The pads have been pre bent as well to aid freedom of movement and the plastic armour is anatomically shaped to ensure a good fit. The padding behind the armour is riddles with vents and these should ensure the pads stay comfortable all day long.

On the Trail

If, like me, you haven’t worn armoured pads for a while then they will take a little getting used to. Soft kneepads are so popular these days it has been a while since I put something like this on my legs. The first few runs they were a little weird, but once worn in they simply disappeared. I completely forgot I was wearing them and with the straps done up correctly they don’t move while you are riding. The vented pads kept my shins from over heating and when we crash tested them a couple of times by accident at Aston Hill they did the job they were supposed to!

Overall

Once bedded in these are really comfortable to wear, if you like riding DH or freeride then these will be perfect. If you are off out on an all day ride a softer non-armoured set up would be better. However, for blasting around with gravity on your side these are perfect.
